Guinevere Has Dyed

Published by DK at 1:07 pm under Knitting, Lace Weight, My Patterns If you like my blog, help add to my stash, thanks Buy Me Yarn

Technically, she has been dyed. Originally, I knit this stole in Dye Your Own Lace Weight Yarn from Knitpicks. I wore it in the natural color for a while and decided that the color was too beige for my skin tone. So, since my son is getting married in 10 days and the colors in the wedding are cream and chocolate, I decided to dye it a chocolate brown. The hardest part of this entire process was lowering it into the dye pot. Here are the results.

Wow, DK, she is gorgeous! I love the fact that she is not a solid brown. Is that how you planned it? The beads stand out wonderfully on the new color too. Still haven’t given my Guinevere to her recipient. Will be flying out to Louisian in October to present her as a 70th birthday present. Hoping that the new stole will make a belated 60th birthday present for another friend.

    You are a brave one!
I don’t know that I would have been ao adventurous, but your efforts have been rewarded with a stunningly beautiful garment.

    Happy Wedding!

Yes, I have been accused of being too brave and adventurous at times… Once the tips of the lace hit the dye bath though, there was no turning back…

I was worried when you said “dye it”, because it was so beautiful in the white, but goodness, it’s GORGEOUS in the browns!

    *phew!!*
