UPDATE: To view more information about the Secret of the Stole I and the new Secret of the Stole II, please go to the new Secret of the Stole site http://www.knitwith.us/kal/secret-of-the-stole and you can now purchase the finished pattern in full from that site at http://www.knitwith.us/patterns/ along with new information about upcoming KAL’s.

We started this new knitting site KnitWith.Us to provide a single location for the most up to date information, enjoy.

Below is a list of the current KAL’s that we are involved with. If you would like to join one of the groups or find out more information please visit the group page for the KAL below.

SOTSii - Secret of the Stole iiSecret of the Stole II is a brand new pattern design by DK the Nautical Knitter. It will be a beginner to intermediate lace stole (non-beaded).

As in keeping with the tradition of the Secret of the Stole KAL’s, there will be several door prizes given away (maybe some before it even begins, you never know), a weekly “hint” (the pattern), and a hint question. All of which will tie into a theme for the stole which will end with a grand prize for the theme winner and you will be left with a great stole to wear just about in time for Easter.

Supply requirements will be announced at a later date and in plenty of time for you to find the perfect yarn to complete Secret of the Stole II.

Secret of the Stole KALThis is a group for the new Secret of the Stole KAL (knit a long) that is beginning October 5, 2007. Along with knitting a stole, several lucky members will receive prizes along the way. This will be a fun group to learn some new techniques, meet some new knitting friends, and have a great time knitting. Membership will be closing for this group on October 4, 2007.

The stole is a combination of lace and beads and the pattern is by Nautical Knitter. Those who complete the Secret of the Stole KAL will have a beautiful stole to wear for New Year’s Eve festivities

The Civil War ShawlThis is a Knit-Along for the Civil War Shawl, as seen in in the Cast On Magazine, Winter/Spring Issue of 2001.

Finished size: 72″ Diameter
Materials used by the author: DOMY HEATHER, (100% wool) 100 gm, 475 yd skeins. She used 9 skeins (4275 yds) in Midnight.
Needle Size: US Size 6, set of dps and circulars in various lengths. The circulars will be important as the project grows in size - just to keep all the stitches together without falling off the needles. This is a very large project and it will take time. The last row contains 1200 stitches; so by that time it will be a single row for that day’s (week?) KAL. There are a total of 161 rows plus 17 rows of edging. =)
